Takeshi Itoh began playing tennis at the age of ten under the tutelage of his father, a former professional tennis player, and at the age of 15, he left home and lived in the U.S. to start training at the Hopman Camp, a world-renowned tennis academy.
After three years of training at the Hopman's, he entered the University of New Mexico. While in school, he competed in the NCAA Tennis Championships in singles and also, helped his team to win the conference championship.
After graduated from university, he joined a prestigious Japanese League team, Kitanihon Bussan, and traveled around the world to play tournaments.
In 2004, he was the head coach of Sanwa Tennis Academy Bangkok (now APF Academies), where he helped launch the academy.
In 2005, he started to work for apparel brand called Aristocratico where he learned about apparel.
The following year, he joined Expeditors Japan K.K., one of the world's top forwarders (logistics company), where he became the top sales person in the company after 3 years, and then started to coach tennis again.
